With access to fast travel via Carrie, I opt to go get some of the recruits I was not able to. We kick off the Faye and B'baba recruitment line at the beginning as I make my way to Leon, but they will not be coming up for a bit.
For Leon, he is on the west side of the castle once it has been upgraded the first time. You just need to talk to him to recruit him. Leon is a fighter.
For Squash, we have to get him the Sparklestone. I ended up getting 3 of them while I was out there, so just give him one and he will join. He requires a shop to be built.
For Kurtz, while we are recruiting Squash, we pick up the recipe he requested from the tree folk. Talk to him afterward and he will join. He requires a restaurant to function.
For Pieter, he is tending the fields in Werne. You just need to talk to him. Build an expanded field at the castle and he will function.
For Glen, this is the start of the card game side quest. Like in real life, card games get expensive fast, so this is something I will be chipping away at off screen for the most part. Otherwise, beat him using the default deck and he will come to the castle. You will need to build the card shop for him to function. He will sell you booster packs and arrange battles between you and the various people you recruited. There is a lot to this, so expect more details further down the line.
Lastly, I am going to do these recruitment videos in 5 character blocks for title purposes. There are still more people we can recruit, but I will alternate between here and the story. For instance, I will not be doing the beigoma crap until much later on, but in theory you can go recruit them or the person from the card game quest already.
